Biden: Extend it again! Vessels related to Russia are prohibited from calling at U.S. ports or entering U.S. shores
U.S. President Joe Biden announced last April: "No vessel sailing under the Russian flag, or owned or operated by a Russian interest, will be permitted to call at U.S. ports or enter U.S. shores."
And just now it issued a statement: "The order prohibiting ships associated with Russia from entering U.S. ports has been extended for one year."
Biden said the decision was made based on the Russian government's "continuing policies and actions of an unreasonable, unprovoked and brutal war against Ukraine."
Some Russian experts pointed out in this regard that considering the large-scale sanctions imposed by the United States on Russia, no Russian ships will call at American ports or enter the coast of the United States, so this is purely a "symbolic sanction."
