The Port of Los Angeles' container throughput increased year-on-year for the first time in 13 months in August. In August this year, the container throughput of the Port of Los Angeles was 828,000 TEU, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%.

 

This is the first time in 13 months that the port has recorded year-on-month growth. Among them, import heavy containers increased by 7.3% to 433,200 TEU, and export heavy containers increased by 22.2% to 125,000 TEU. In addition, the number of empty containers passing through the Port of Los Angeles fell by 9.9% to 269,800 TEU.

 

In the first eight months of 2023, the container throughput of the Port of Los Angeles was 5.6497 million TEU, a year-on-year decrease of 21.0%. LB’s freight volume this year is basically the same as before the epidemic.
