Amazon First! 2023 Global Freight Top 50 Announcement
The 2023 Global Freight Enterprises Ranking List, developed by Transport Topics in collaboration with SJ Consulting Group, provides the largest participant in the freight and cargo handling fields of all transportation modes (truck, rail, ocean, air, and parcel) around the world, as well as a new perspective for third-party logistics service providers based on non asset foundations.
This Top 50 list is mainly ranked based on the freight and logistics business revenue of enterprises for the entire year of 2022.
Amazon's debut on the list, ranking first
The most notable change in this year's Top 50 list is the decision to include online retail giant Amazon, whose order fulfillment and logistics businesses have topped the list for the first time.
According to Amazon's 2022 annual report, Amazon's net sales of third-party seller services were $117.7 billion, accounting for nearly 23% of the company's total revenue.
UPS and FedEx rank 2nd and 3rd respectively. In 2022, UPS's revenue exceeded $100 billion for the first time, while FedEx's revenue reached $90 billion.
Ranked fourth is DHL Group, with revenue of $87 billion. Ranked fifth is Maersk Group, the largest ocean transportation company on the list, with revenue of $80 billion in 2022, an increase of 32% compared to 2021.
The United States Postal Service, with revenue of $78.5 billion, ranks 6th. France Dafei Shipping Group and China COSCO Shipping Group rank 7th and 8th respectively.
Swiss freight forwarding company Dexun and Chinese parcel delivery company SF Express also rank in the top 10.
8 Chinese companies have been shortlisted on the top 50 list
In addition to COSCO Shipping Group and SF Express, which are ranked in the top 10, there are also 6 Chinese companies successfully listed in the top 50.
